I don’t know. But this is how my mind works when it comes to my writing practice. I have a small image or group of words and I allow them to become a part of me for months - sometimes years - before I finally release them.

The really beautiful thing about this commission is that while there are specific themes - care for the environment, nature, and sustainability -there is so much space to explore how those themes will be explored and presented through our collaboratively created film.

The Our Voice Network would like to offer our Zoom account for use throughout the year to all artists and organisations throughout the sector. We understand the need for connection and collaboration and would like the opportunity to support artistic practice.

And every day I paint,

Diligently, carefully, I paint myself new.

And what is seen by others is this mess of colour,

And uneven lines.

But what I am becoming through the confusion,

And mess,

Is me.

We all want quick fixes to mending relationships with marginalised communities - there are no quick fixes. The affect of exclusion and discrimination are felt on the deepest personal level. So when we meet with those most under-represented, there's no agenda it's one question -

Unravel me and see the woman that hides

Beneath ordinary lies,

Beneath the guise of 'everything's alright'.

Covered by disguise,

Fully clothed through life -

Undress me and see all that makes me.

Guide your fingers down my every curve.

Memorize my marks.

And there you'll find me.
