2024 Our Voice Bursary
In Partnership with Sherman Theatre
For artists of the Global Majority who are seeking to develop as storytellers.
The 2024 Our Voice Bursary aims to support two artists of the Global Majority, for one year, to develop as storytellers and to develop connections in the arts sector in Wales.
Two recipients will be chosen through an open selection process searching for those with no formal or professional experience as writers, who are passionate about storytelling - in the most broad sense of the word.
Successful recipients will be supported for one year (September 2024 - August 2025) in the following ways:
monthly mentoring sessions with Sherman Theatre staff to support their development as storytellers;
support from artist and Our Voice Network founder Krystal S. Lowe including application and CV writing, feedback on ideas, finding jobs and opportunities, and building connections with people in the arts sector to support ongoing career development;
a public showcase of their work-in-progress in the 2025 Our Voice Sharing held at Sherman Theatre, produced by Krystal S. Lowe; and
a £500 bursary to support expenses and time to develop their art-form.
Sherman Theatre will support the bursary recipients to take part in paid work placements throughout the year, at Sherman Theatre or elsewhere.
